Now in the Windows on the World Gallery May - July "Waterways - An artistic exploration of the streams and rivers of central Pennsylvania"
In the Community Gallery Sylvia Apple and Jim Mikkelsen![]()
Jim Mikkelsen’s work is currently on exhibition in the Community Gallery
of the Bellefonte ART Museum, where he is showing with works by fabric
artist Sylvia Apple. He will demonstrate some of the tools and
techniques he uses to make wood sculptures at 1 PM on Sunday, May 26th
front of the museum. After the demonstration, he will do a gallery
discussion of his vision as a wood worker, his distinctive approach to
wood sculpting and his system for creating a work of art from wood. “Jim’s artistic skills breathes life into woods and creates a flowing master piece that seems to come from within the wood itself. With Jim”s carefully crafted work, the grain of the wood swirls into abstract designs.”, Patricia House, director. The mission of the museum is to promote the visual arts, stimulate curiosity, imagination and creativity, and to promote lively and thoughtful participation. The museum focuses on the works of local artists, cultural art (art with historical and cultural context) and local collections. Progress Report At the Bellefonte Art Museum, we
