Fundraiser to benefits victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico

The Bellefonte Art Museum will hold a fundraiser to benefit the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The event will take place on Sunday, October 22, from noon-4:30. Artists will be donating greeting cards, small canvases, paintings, prints, and drawings that will cost our patrons no more than $50. The Museum Director Pat House has agreed that all proceeds, including the museum’s normal commission, will go to “United for Puerto Rico,” an organization created by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló. 100% of the donations collected will support those affected by the hurricane.

There have been so many disastrous events that have happened to Americans during the past several weeks. But please don’t forget Puerto Rico. They are Americans too, and their suffering is not over. They need the same things we do on the mainland—clean water, batteries, flashlights, soap, toothpaste, feminine hygiene items, first aid kits, pain medication, mosquito repellent, etc.

Please plan to visit the museum on Sunday, October 22, from noon-4:30, and support our local artists and the good people of Puerto Rico. And don’t forget that the museum will accept cash donations, which we will forward to the charity.
